There
visions, clichés, slogans, which by dint of being repeated ad nauseam, are intended to become true. One of them, well entrenched in certain sectors of society, is that old idea that we are going wrong because we are an uneducated country without sufficient training, with many illiterate and people with intellectual limitations.
In this array of justifications, some elements of society, think to find the explanation of why so many misfortunes, the sequence of many populist leaders and demagogues in power.
A little digging into this building plot vanishes almost the entire structure. Its foundations fall under its own weight and the skeleton is no reasonable support.
Many
uncivilized societies have come forward by dint of his strength, his attitude, his courage and determination. Without going any further, this republic could build a country strong, powerful, visionary and project, using indicators of poverty and illiteracy master beyond what was imaginable, at a time when the school system was for the few. Did not stop to dream big and become one of the world's first democracies, with their weaknesses, their faults, but clearly marking a path we should never depart.
The flipside of this were other more civilized nations, where reigned the collapse, arrogance and authoritarianism as a rule. Many massacres and atrocities were implemented in the context of highly educated societies, and more educated than ours.
On the other hand, freedom has nothing to do with education. Educate the sovereign that was the kick that led to a system that has been perfected over the decades and has only managed to indoctrinate generations, incorporating a biased view of reality, closing the door to diversity, and generating the hegemonic discourse of each historical period. The powerful shift, has had the opportunity to manipulate content, tell a story full of simplifications, this piecemeal validate and accommodate all your discretion.
If we call education, if that is what we intend to encourage and believe that citizens will thus critically, with ability to choose, to have a personal view, we are treading the wrong path.
Freedom is an essential part of humanity has to do with the species. It is not a favor granted by a government, much less the result of more training, education or training. And this is far from an apology of illiteracy or ignorance. Quite the contrary, it is freedom as a value hierarchy. Individuals are that, people can make decisions for themselves, and our best information, knowledge and culture are desirable but by no means a requirement for freedom.
Men learn to decide for ourselves. We do this through trial and error, stumble and get up. Formal education, the instruction does not save too much less guaranteed path decisions. Anecdotal evidence of this.
most hostile societies in the world today, the most belligerent, which are filled with pride, are those where knowledge is abundant. Not always be guaranteed to have informed the appropriate standard. Nor otherwise be say so clearly.
Knowledge does not make us better, not even freer. Just gives us more tools. The art of intelligence is knowing how to use them and not have them available. The rest has to do with training values, personal integrity, with moral standards that govern our daily actions.
So keep feeding the authoritarian fallacy, this Fascist chimera, which holds that society must be educated, hides the intention dictatorial rule contained in the state school system to indoctrinate and teach what they please, with the money of all.
The scheme is almost perfect for those with the helm of the education system. They have the resources that we all contribute, and decide that ideologies are taught and what is deliberately ignored. The idea that support is that students learn what they claim.
All this in the context of an educational system that is never discussed, defended extremely structural, only challenged in its nuances. It's time to rethink everything, with self-criticism, humility, assuming that we have been wrong in good faith, to leave to remain functional despots always.
Maybe we should ask ourselves if we really want a system of indoctrination as they have created generations of visionaries oppressors, who lined different ideologies, shared the common dream of taming the companies that governed their time.
careful with this highly acclaimed belief that says that without education we can not conceive of a democracy, which ignorant people do not deserve freedom, that companies indiscriminately must rethink their political system for some time. That was the pass for the authoritarian regimes that sequels left in our societies. The wounds of those errors seem to never heal and we continue to insist on formula already failed.
Freedom is not in dispute. An essential part of the human species. Not so meekly accept that to be free one must be educated. We do not need a despot who indoctrinate us. We need to exercise more freedom, make mistakes to learn from our mistakes. And so much less accept passivity to continue gaining weight a disastrous education system, plagued by corporate interests that only continues to suffocate us, and refines his authoritative eye every day to give the perfect excuse to fascism.
